Books For Days

One of my favourite ways to unwind is with a good book. Give me a couple minutes to curl up in a sun-soaked room with a new book and a warm cup of coffee – finally some me time!

Growing up, my parents always made sure there was room to buy books in our budget. Reading was always important. And now, I’m sharing my love for reading with Liam and Lillya. One of our favourite dates is to go to our local Chapters, grab a treat and pick out new books to read. As a busy mom, I don’t get much time out of my day to read, but I always make sure to have a book available for a rare quiet moment.

Even though life gets busy, I know choosing to read a book is a better way to unwind than sitting in front of the TV. Every time, I end up feeling more relaxed and inspired. Can you tell how much I love books?

Books make a beautiful decor element, too. I love coffee table books, and they’re one of my favourite – and one of the easiest – ways to add personality and interest to a space. They’re a great statement piece!

Right now, Indigo is running an #AlwaysBeReading campaign, and I’m happy to be a part of it. It’s a great opportunity to share my love for reading, along with a couple of my favourite books, and see what everyone else recommends for my future reading list.

Anyone else totally obsessed with cook books and coffee table books? I seriously can’t get enough! I always find myself flipping through them, finding a new recipe or reading up on tips and tricks in the kitchen! Did you know chia seeds are a great replacement for eggs? Thanks, Oh She Glows!

Here’s what I love right now:

Looking for a good beach read? Try The Nest or The Vacationers. (I’ve got Big Little Lies on my “must-read” list.)

Wanting to feel inspired in the kitchen? Explore Food 52: A New Way to DinnerOh She Glows Every Day, It’s All Good or any of the Donna Hay cookbooks. I love The Art of French Baking, too.

Needing something new for your kids? Liam and Lillya recommend The Big Book of Berenstain Bears and Flora and the Flamingo.

The best part about Indigo is how they always have something for everyone. I encourage you to check out your local Indigo store to pick up a few new books for yourself, and share your recommendations on social media using the hashtags #AlwaysBeReading and #ExperienceIndigo!

What are you favourite books of all time? What’s on your reading list next? I’d love to know!
