I’m a huge fan of natural lighting, but when the stormy Vancouver weather is acting up it’s always nice to have beautiful in home lighting that you can count on. I think the finishing touch to any area is the lighting, and it’s a great way to refresh any space when heading into the summer months.  Wall sconces, chandeliers, pot lights and lamps are truly the jewelry of a  home and can make an incredible change to the look and feel of a space.

I recently switched over to SYLVANIA lighting in my home and love the change it’s made.  Today I wanted to highlight the lighting in my kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen, I switched over to the LED 60W light bulbs in the pendant lights above the island and the sconces above my kitchen sink. I was pleasantly surprised that the lighting that the bulbs gave off was quite similar to the bulbs I previously had in them. The light gave off a fresh looking soft and warm  colour, which I love. These bulbs last a lot longer than regular bulbs and promise up to 85% in savings on my energy bills!

In the chandelier above the kitchen table and in the bathroom sconces, I used the ULTRA LED 25W chandelier bulbs. I love the look of a statement chandelier over a kitchen table and these decorative bulbs absolutely enhance the look of the crystal beading. The dimmable feature also lets me set the tone of the lighting I desire. I love the soft white lighting they give to the kitchen as well as the perfect makeup lighting environment they create in the bathroom, it’s  similar to day light and makes the clarity of the space better too.

We have many pot lights in our kitchen area. It’s a great option for extra lighting on those gloomy days. We used the PAR 30 bulbs to highlight our desk nook as well as the rest of the kitchen. Since we have 10 foot ceilings in our kitchen these bulbs are great for creating a really bright space on dark days, or just lightly brightening the space when needed. I just love how the lighting can be adjusted depending on the weather or time of day.

It’s great knowing that I’ll be saving money and the environment in the long run. From the warm colour and light quality to being mercury free, the switch to SYLVANIA lighting has been an awesome change to our home! You can also make the switch and shop all the lighting that I chose at Canadian Tire. If you would like to learn more, come ask me any questions at the Twitter party I’ll be hosting about #LightingYourLife Like a Pro on Tuesday June 28th at 9PM EST/6PM PST with @sylvaniacanada!
