Is it just me or is there a lot of organic cotton fabrics every time you step into a clothing store? What does “organic cotton” even mean? It sounds better, but is it  really better? It seems like everybody is carrying it… H&M, ZARA, Urban Outfitters and so many more! I thought it was time to discover what this organic cotton is all about!

Just like any other organic product we can be certain that these organic cottons are chemical free, meaning that we as humans are not exposed to these harmful chemicals AND chemical residues are not entering into the environment. These cottons are not genetically modified, are grown without the use of any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. You might not have realized it, but every t-shirt made of conventional cotton requires 1/4 pound of harmful chemicals!

No wonder organically raised cotton is winning over new ground on the farm and in the marketplace! According to the Cotton Council International, not only is it  produced without the use of any bleaches or dyes, but its also allergy free and dust-mite resistant! This is clearly the best choice of material for all you who suffer from asthma or allergies! Who needs Claritin when you can use a organic cotton hanky!

Cotton clothing also allows for better air circulation, helping absorb body moisture, drawing heat away from the skin and keeping the body cool and dry!  Make sure to pack a nice organic cotton beach tank next time you hit warmer climates, it is the best choice to cool you down on those hot muggy days!
