Hello to the first day of autumn! It’s the perfect time to soak in the last of those long sunny days! The sun is still warm and we’re trying to take advantage of outdoor living as much as we can. If you know us well, than you know we love to entertain; when we can do it outside it makes the night that much more magical and intimate.

It took me a bit of time to find the right pieces for our upstairs deck, as we knew we wanted it to be for long table dinners and pure entertaining goodness.  I was searching for the perfect long table we could keep outside that would seat at least ten people for family dinners and get togethers with friends. Already having the grey and white bistro chairs in mind, being a long time fan from our past trips to Pairs, I knew I wanted a table that had a relaxed country look yet paired well with the chairs.  I finally found both at Joss & Main online, and when eventing arrived the look was just what I was looking for!

Now that we finally have our outdoor dining space set up, I’m taking advantage of every bit of warm Fall weather we get! The trees changing colour and warm tones make it so beautiful up there! I’m almost tempted to host Thanksgiving dinner outside, if the weather permits! I like to keep it quite simple when hosting outdoors. For the wow factor I like to tie in some cute napkins, a table runner, statement glassware and a few simple floral arrangements right out of the garden! Because our deck is upstairs, I’ve found that a bar cart with extra side plates, napkins, a drink dispenser and even the dessert is a great way to have everything in one place without needing to keep running in and out of the kitchen. A must have for outdoor entertaining! Now to invite some friends and family over and simply enjoy! Hope you have a chance to squeeze in a few last minutes dinners outside too!
